Reflection Statement
As of now, my chapter at Slippery Rock University is coming to an end. It seems just like yesterday that I was a freshman, moving my things into my dorm room and scared to start this next chapter of my life. Right now, I am focusing on getting an internship and then searching for a job. Keeping all of this in mind, it's time for me to grow up. That means no more sleeping in, no more options to pick what classes I want and what time I want them to be and no time to fret over the little things in life. Thinking about getting a job could be a scary thing because I don't know where i'll end up. The problem is i'm not sure what is going to come for me next and that's the scary part.

As of now, this is what I do know. I have worked hard to be where I am at today. I have maintained a 3.54 GPA while having two on campus jobs (at one point), volunteering for various departments and joining different clubs such as the Internation's Club and Lambda Pi Eta (both clubs where I have held chair positions). In a few semesters, I piled on a whopping 18 credits and somehow survived. The best part is, I survived 8am classes.

When I came to Slippery Rock, I had received my first on campus job working for the Office of Disability Services. At first, I was hesitant about this job but ended up staying for almost 4 years. I have met many people in this job who have shaped me into the person that I am today. I have received the most criticism in this job and I believe this is why I am such a huge critic on myself today. After I had taken a step back from the Office of Disability Services, I had received an interview for another on campus job and that was to work for the Athletic Communication Department. When I walked into the interview, I was so nervous. Little did I know that both Jon and Tyler would be a huge influence on my life and impact what career path I had wanted to take. Jon and Tyler have helped me prove to myself that I am worth so much more than I think. I have learned a lot through working with the Athletic Communication Department such as how to set up different types of equipment, how to handle criticism well and most importantly that I can succeed in the career path of Athletic Communication. Also, both of my jobs have given me some of my best friends and work- related relationships, which is a plus.

On a different note, throughout these four years I have come a long way from being the scared, timid freshman to the senior who isn't afraid to voice my opinion in class or answer a question and use my words to express feelings. Now that you know about my college journey, I can confidently say that I am on the right path in obtaining an internship and a job within the sport industry. I am proud of the young woman that I have become and can't wait to see what the future has in store for me.
